Kogi Governor Preaches Peace and Unity During Eid al-Adha Celebration, Assures Commitment to Security 

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, alongside his top appointees, joined worshippers at the Okene Central Mosque for Eid al-Adha prayers, emphasizing the importance of unity, peace, and harmony among citizens. The Governor used the occasion to call on Kogites to see themselves as one, promoting a sense of togetherness and collective progress.

While acknowledging the recent security challenges in the state, Governor Ododo assured citizens that the government is on top of the situation. He attributed the rise in security concerns to the state's strategic location, bordering nine states and the FCT, which makes it a potential transit zone for criminal elements fleeing military operations in neighboring regions.

He thanked his predecessor, former governor Yahaya Bello, who was with him at the prayer ground, for building a solid foundation upon which he is consolidating.

The Governor also highlighted the benefits of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope agenda, citing prompt salary payments and the near-completion of key infrastructure projects. He expressed his support for the President's initiatives, which he believes will further enhance the state's development.

In his message, Governor Ododo emphasized the significance of Eid al-Adha, which celebrates the spirit of sacrifice and obedience to God. He urged citizens to emulate the virtues of the festival, promoting peace, unity, and cooperation in the state.
