Flatmates Star, Kayode Peter, Dies at 42

The Nigerian entertainment industry has been thrown into a state of mourning following the death of Kayode Peter Adewumi who played the character Koko, a restaurant owner, in family drama Flatmates.

The renowned Nigerian filmmaker and actor, passed away in Toronto after a prolonged battle with illness. He died peacefully in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Widely known for his remarkable storytelling, directing, and production in Nollywood, KP, as he was fondly called, leaves behind a legacy of creativity, generosity, and impact both on screen and in the hearts of those who knew him.

The Adewumi family, in a brief statement, described him as a beloved son, husband, father, and friend whose warmth and spirit were as enduring as his art.

Funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.
